T&C ApplyAn Introduction to GrabPay
GrabPay was launched by GrabTaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd in 2016. This is a Singapore-based company that started its existence as a ride-hailing and fast-food delivery service. However, they soon realized their customers wanted an easier way to pay through the Grab app. Thus, GrabPay was born.
Due to its fast transfers and plenty of useful extra features, GrabPay became a hit amongst Filipino gamblers, as well. This, along with other means of adoption, resulted in the platform winning many awards. The most prestigious of them are:
- Best Mobile Payment App (2018 Global Mobile Awards)
- Best Mobile App for Financial Services (2018 Webby Awards)
- Best Mobile Payment Solution (2018 PayTech Awards)
- Best Financial Inclusion Solution (2018 Global Mobile Awards)
- Best Mobile Payment App (2019 Webby Awards)
According to various sources, GrabPay has an active userbase of approximately 25 million, as of Q3 2022. In addition, this eWallet is licensed and regulated by the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the governing body tasked with regulating casino banking methods.
Where GrabPay Operates
The GrabPay eWallet is available in Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia. Even though the main Grab app can be used in all of Southeast Asia, the eWallet has only been launched in these three countries. In addition, the GrabPay PayLater feature (more on that, well, later) can only be used in Malaysia and Singapore.
Generally, the availability of GrabPay depends on whether or not the Grab Superapp is available in a certain country. The company has to apply for all kinds of permits in order to offer all their services in one package, which is why it’s so hard for Grab to expand. Nevertheless, they stated that it’s their goal to make GrabPay a leading eWallet in the SEA region. When the service becomes available somewhere else than MA, PH or SG, we’ll update the review.

Bank accounts only need to be linked once, ensuring smooth and seamless transactions.
Online Casino Payments with GrabPay
To deposit with GrabPay, you’re going to need access to your Grab app. First, log into your online casino account and select Deposit. Once you’re in the Banking section, select GrabPay as your preferred payment method. After doing so, you’ll be given the casino’s GrabPay ID.
Now, log into your GrabApp and tap the GrabPay icon in the main interface. Select Pay and enter the amount you want to deposit. Make sure you’re fulfilling any minimum deposit requirements if you’ve claimed a bonus. Then, carefully copy the GrabPay ID you received earlier. Double-check everything – you don’t want to have to go through the cancellation process.
After reviewing the details, tap Confirm and wait for GrabPay to process the transaction. It should be instant, so refresh your casino account to see when it finally lands. Also, GrabPay will send you a notification that the casino received the funds.
How to Create a GrabPay Account: Step by Step Guide
Various sources estimate that over 180 million people in Southeast Asia have a Grab account. It’s required to use GrabPay, so you’re going to need one. If you haven’t ordered food or sent a parcel through the app before, follow these steps to set up a GrabPay account:
Download the app
Make sure your Google/iCloud account has a location in the Philippines. If it does, just go to the Play Store/App Store and download Grab.
Register
After the download is complete, open the app and click Sign Up. It’s a big box — you can’t miss it! Once you’ve done this, just enter your phone number and create a password. Think of a unique one, and don’t share it between accounts. Select ‘Continue’ to proceed.
Provide your personal details
For safety and compliance reasons, GrabPay requires your personal information to confirm it’s really you that’s making the payments. This involves your email, home address and any other details that GrabPay might deem relevant.
Create a PIN
Instead of relying on emails and usernames, you can set up 2-factor authentication and access GrabPay this way. That’s why this step is all about creating a 6-digit PIN. Ensure that it’s something you can remember easily, otherwise you’ll have trouble re-accessing your account.
Choose a payment method
GrabPay lets you fund your wallet using both cards and Filipino bank accounts. Go to the Payments tab and enter the necessary information. Don’t worry, as you’ll only have to do this once. All transactions will be approved by entering the PIN code.
Complete the verification process
It’s important to note that all new GrabPay accounts have a Basic GrabPay Wallet. This allows you to send money and use several other things, but doesn’t unlock the full set of features. To do this, you must undergo KYC procedures.
If you want to trigger the process, go to your GrabPay app and select Payments. Tap Verify Now twice and read the Privacy Policy. This outlines what GrabPay is and isn’t allowed to do with your data. Once you’re familiar with the condition, accept and move on.
The next part is all about your ID. Enter your ID type, number and attach a photo where all the details are clearly visible. Share your source of funds and enter both your current and permanent residential address. After you’re done with all that, all that’s left to do is request a live veridication session. GrabPay does this via video call, and the service is available from 10 am to 7 pm every day.
Premium Wallet verification is usually complete after 48 hours or less. In some cases, GrabPay might request to see a utility bill or another document that can prove your residential address. Wait for a notification and be sure to enjoy your new features once the company approves your account.

GrabPay Fees, Timeframes and Limits
Fees
Unfortunately, using GrabPay at Filipino online casinos might incur some fees. After testing this payment method at Jiliko Casino, we’ve determined that there are two sets of fees you have to watch out for:
- 2% conversion fee. Because GrabPay isn’t available just in PHP, casino players can use other currencies to top up their account. However, if you’re making a deposit with MYR, SGD or USD, GrabPay will pocket 2% of the entire transaction amount. The conversion rate is also a bit lower than what we expected, but at least everything’s transparent and easy to understand. Unfortunately, this happens at Jiliko Casino, as well as other sites. It’s not the operators’ fault, though — it’s GrabPay’s.
- 1% overseas fee. If you’re depositing at a merchant who’s based outside the Philippines, you’ll be paying another 1% to GrabPay. This is pretty much unavoidable, since most available sites are based outside the country. Always research the casino’s base of operations, as well as their accepted currencies.
Both the 2% conversion fee and the 1% overseas transfer fees are non-refundable. Read our casino reviews before playing, just in case you can find a site that accepts PHP and allows you to avoid paying more.
Timeframes
As of early 2023, GrabPay isn’t available for withdrawals at Filipino online casinos. This is because the GrabPay eWallet isn’t meant for large-scale transactions on an international level. When you deposit using this payment method, you can easily withdraw using bank transfer, cryptos, cards or an eWallet.
Bank transfers usually take 1-3 working days to complete. This means that you can receive your withdrawal in a couple of days, top up your GrabPay balance and play again if you wish to do so. It may be a workaround, but it’s the best solution available, given the technical limitations.
Limits
Before we list the exact limits, there are two things you should note:
- Casinos set their own limits, too. The limits we discuss in this GrabPay review only relate to GrabPay’s own caps. Individual sites may make their own decisions, which can alter your experience with this payment method. Before picking one of our recommended sites, always consult our reviews to find the exact limits and how they’re applied.
- We list the limits with GrabPay Premium in mind. Don’t worry, GrabPay Premium isn’t a paid version of this eWallet. Instead, you can get if you complete the full KYC process. You can use it in its unverified form, but it has much lower limits and doesn’t allow players to send money abroad.
GrabPay users have a PHP 75,000 limit per transaction. This is the same as the total daily and monthly limits for making GrabPay casino deposits. Even if you exceed the limit, there’s no need to worry. The payment provider allows people to transfer their remaining balance to a card or bank account.
Best GrabPay Casino Bonus
Another thing CBM likes about this payment method is that it’s always eligible for various bonuses and promos. Aside from deals targeting new players, regular players can also enjoy things such as cashbacks, topups and other perks with GrabPay.
It’s no secret that we think GrabPay is a fine option for Filipino casino players. Not only does it offer plenty of useful security and QOL features, but it’s also well-recognized by online casinos. Here are the best GrabPay casino bonuses, as well as some quick facts about them.

Security and Customer Support
Ever since the launch of its P2P money sending service in 2016, GrabPay has been one of the most secure eWallets in the Philippines. It’s regulated by the Filipino National Bank, as well as financial institutions in Singapore and Malaysia. That’s a 100% licensing rate, in terms of available countries.
They’re also officially compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DDS) protocol. If you didn’t know, this is the highest level of security a fintech company can have. It means they keep your data safely stored and encrypted.
Moreover, GrabPay’s success isn’t just because of regulatory compliance. There are plenty of in-app features that’ll keep your money safe. You can’t log into GrabPay without your PIN, for starters. In addition, you can set up fingerprint or face scanning as a second layer of authentication.
We’re also pleased to hear that the payment provider has its own in-house fraud prevention team. They use both manual screening and advanced algorithms. So even if an account gets compromised, any transactions will be immediately flagged.
Support-wise, GrabPay is certainly at a high level. To report an issue or reach out for help, open the app and select Help. Pick a category that best suits your issue and proceed to describe what happened.
Then, just tap Submit and an agent will call you or send you a message through the app. Overall, the process is smooth, even though we waited ~10 minutes for a response a couple of times.
However, you won’t need to do this most of the time. The FAQ section is very informative and contains dozens of answers. So before you reach out to support with a question, browse the FAQ categories and use the search function to find specific keywords. You’ll love the depth of the explanations as much as we did.
Our experience with GrabPay support
We imagined that our casino deposit was ‘stuck’ and decided to give GrabPay’s support a go. After describing the issue vaguely, we submitted the query and were contacted by John Rey.
After waiting for around 10 minutes, he apologized to us for taking so long and went on to ask us more questions. Overall, CBM was pleased with how John Rey treated us.
Player Experiences at GrabPay Gambling Sites
Casino players in the Philippines seem to be generally pleased with their GrabPay experiences.
They’re also ranked highly on other authority sites, such as Trust Pilot. In addition, we checked how they treated their employees, and most former GrabPay team members have nothing but positive things to say.
One thing we regularly see is people complaining about long waiting times when reaching out to support. And chronologically, this seems to happen during holiday season. The CBM team hopes to see this resolved, whether it’s due to understaffing or some other issue.
Mobile Capability and Extra Features
Not only is GrabPay very capable mobile-wise, but you can’t even use the service without a phone. Make sure you have a valid Filipino number and you’ll be able to enjoy the very pleasant and visually pleasing UI of this particular app. It’s available on both iOS and Android devices, seemingly not requiring a brand-new version of the OS.
In addition to using GrabPay at online casinos, Filipino users also have plenty of extra features at their disposal. For instance, you can get different cashback rates depending on where you use your Grab Wallet or GrabPay Card. This includes in-store purchases, Grab orders, and many other Filipino shops and e-commerce websites that are participating in the program.
GrabPay users can also pay bills through the app, as well as purchase insurance packages and even take out loans. This is possible through Grab’s partnership with leading financial institutions in the Philippines.
Our Verdict of GrabPay Payments
GrabPay is a subsidiary of SE Asia’s largest super app, Grab. This gives it a big advantage over the competition and is one of the main reasons it is found at the best Filipino online casinos. Overall, it is easy to use and one of the safest options for beginners. Multi-factor authentication and Filipino Central Bank licensing further support this notion.
However, CBM isn’t quite pleased with the high fees and the fact that support is sometimes slow to respond. Also, we’d like to see more casinos accept this payment method, but this isn’t GrabPay’s fault.
In all other departments, they score highly. Whether it’s extra features, resources and reputation, GrabPay is without a doubt one of the best casino banking methods in the Philippines.
Interesting Facts

GrabPay FAQs
No, you can’t. GrabPay is only suitable for deposits at Filipino online casinos. If you want to withdraw, you can use your GrabPay Card (if you have one), another eWallet or a bank account.
Yes, CBM considered GrabPay to be one of the safest casino banking methods in SE Asia. The app allows for multi-factor authentication, including PIN codes and biometric verification.

If you still want to play at Filipino casino sites and grab a bonus in the process, GCash and PayMaya are two alternative banking methods you can use. In addition, bank transfers and eWallets like Skrill & Neteller, are also viable solutions.
GrabPay processes all money transfers instantly. The casino should be notified of your payment in a few seconds. Afterwards, the system will automatically credit the amount to your account balance.
